Promotions contracted as Development Officer for TheatreOne Responsible for the donor and corporate supporters of Nanaimo’s Professional theatre company. 1998 - current Owner and operator of UBetcha! Promotions. A promotion company which brings live productions and film entertainment such as Moving Pictures: The Canadian Film Festival to Nanaimo, manages productions for others and contracts out to other existing theatrical companies. 1987 - 1994 Owner and operator of Robin’s Donuts Owned and managed two Robin’s Donuts stores in Nanaimo. 1980-1993 Teacher, various schools finishing up at Ladysmith Secondary Although I went through school here in Nanaimo, I left to obtain my degree, marry, have a family, and teach outside Nanaimo. I returned in 1980 to teach at two elementary schools and for my final six years, taught English and Theatre at Ladysmith Secondary. Directed 14 shows, acted in 3 shows and produced 5 shows. All but two shows used local talent. - Member of Nanaimo Theatre Group for 25 years directing 6 shows, acting in 3 shows, producing and stage managing several others as well as executive member for 6 years. Directed NTG’s first musical in the Port Theatre ,The Music Man, with over 120 people involved - and a horse on stage! - Worked with Yellowpoint Drama Club as director of one show and actor in another. - Worked with United Church Players as director of 3 large productions. - on board of Shakespeare Plus (now TheatreOne) from 1984-1993; President for two years. - worked as Assistant Director for two shows and Assistant Production Manager for two seasons with Nanaimo Festival (Now TheatreOne). - Mainstage Committee member of NTG who hosted Theatre BC’s provincial amateur theatre showcase in 1999 here in Nanaimo; in charge of venues and programs. · Film: - acted in Grey Fox and Tortoise in a Rainstorm. - Production Assistant in Three Women · Tap Dancing: - teach adult tap at Bea Macleod Dance Studio - studied tap with Sherrie Black's Studios and with Kirkwood Academy · Hanggliding: - still enjoy tandems and working out on the training hill. · Writing - newspaper press releases and Arts articles for Essence Magazine. Travel - travelled to over 40 countries in every continent. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Member of Altrusa International of Nanaimo (a business women’s service club) for 14 years. Two years as President and five years as executive member in various roles. Nanaimo Film Commission - five years on the Board, two as treasurer. (1994-1999) Great Nanaimo Toy Drive - collecting and distributing toys for needy families’ children. 13 years on the Board, 11 years as Chair. Port Theatre - nine years on membership committee. (1998) Co-chaired the opening ceremonies for Community Night and Stage Managed the evening with over 200 people involved. Cultural Committee for City of Nanaimo - member-at-large for 5 years. Chaired the Buskers By-law, Nanaimo’s 125th Birthday Celebration, and member of the organizing committee for Nanaimo Arts Forums. Organized and Stage Managed Piano Benefit at the Port Theatre with Thelma Bradbury 1999. Stage Managed Applause 2001, 2002, 2003 in June for Arts Council. Selected as a judge of all short entries for InFest, Nanaimo’s first short film festival. Nanaimo Celebrates Music 2001 - Co-chair, organized Nanaimo’s First Annual Guitar Festival with Dave Gogo and Fred Luvisotto last August 3-5th, 2001. Grants in Aid Committee - member-at-large for three years. Social Planning for Nanaimo Committee - member-at-large for one year.(2000-2001) BC Summer Games 2002 - Chair of the Games Village here in Nanaimo!
